Artist Statement
Since childhood I have drawn influence from the cartoons I have consumed, from Disney animation to Japanese anime. The art and the stories within have inspired my art and my inner world and made art and fiction writing a lifelong dream of mine. My ultimate desire is to create comics and graphic novels of my own invention. More than anything, I want to be able to share the vibrant narratives that come to life in my mind with those around me, and I want them to be able to experience the characters and their worlds the same way that I experience them. In those worlds and those characters, I want people to be able to see themselves, and I want their stories to mean something. I want those stories to be full of pain, and conflict, and resolution, and triumph, and if the fictional lives of my characters and their strengths and their flaws and their successes and losses can inspire someone in a positive way then that is more than I could ever ask. And if they just think that my art looks neat, and they think my stories are cool then that will make me happy too.
